Facilities at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) are certainly extensive and fall into a number of different categories, spread around its nine main terminal buildings (1 to 9). Business travelers are well catered for with Internet access and meeting spaces.

Those shopping for a model of the Statue of Liberty or a similar New York souvenir will find a number of gift shops distributed around the terminals, often being close to arrivals and the checkpoint gates. In total there are roughly 175 different shops spread throughout each of the terminals, including newsagents such as Hudson News, Metro News, Relay and CNN News, and several large tax-free outlet (Duty Free Americas, International Shops and DFS Galleria NY). Always popular with travelers are the Bvlgari and Cartier jewelry shops, the leather handbags at Hermes, and the travel accessories at Tumi. If you are in Terminal 8, then a visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art Shop is recommended.

Bars, Cafés and Restaurants


There is certainly no chance of starving at JFK Airport, with more than 130 eateries to choose between. Familiar fast-food chains include the likes of Auntie Anne's, Burger King, Dunkin' Donuts, KFC Express, McDonald's, Subway, Wendy's, and Wok and Roll, while for a coffee and a muffin, Peets Coffee and Tea, and Starbucks is on hand. Also worth looking is Bobby Van's Steakhouse, the Brooklyn National Deli, the CIBO Express Gourmet Market, the New York Sports Bar and SoHo Bistro. For a quick snack on the go, there are plenty of Market Central vending machines.

Currency Exchange, Communications and Banking Facilities


If you are in need of foreign currency exchange, then you will be pleased to learn that each of the terminals have branches of Travelex or Lenlyn Ice Currency, although do bear in mind that some are post security. ATM cash points located throughout the airport (except in Terminal 6), along with postal services, public telephones and several full-service banks.

Business and Conference Facilities


In Terminal 5 and Terminal 6 at the airport, business facilities are restricted to airline members only. Elsewhere, passengers can make use of payphones, fax machines, photocopiers, work stations, data ports and meeting rooms.

Disabled Facilities


John F. Kennedy International works hard to make life easier for disabled travelers. Onsite are elevators, good access for wheelchair users, curbside assistance where necessary, allocated parking spaces and telephones for people with hearing difficulties.

Other Facilities
